Forest

Quite often I wonder who you are?

Are you here through a link error,
Or are you a traveler seeking
A house ?

Whoever you are,
You are where it was always promised
You would be.

An old man was walking through a forest,
Age, sickness,
Or did he so wish?
He died.

His burden fell on the floor,

Why would an old man walk though a forest
Carrying only a mirror?

You were seeking
You lost your way
The stench was horrible.

Tired of looking down
Seeking amongst thorns and roots
A path

Having lost hope of finding your way again
So tired that you did not even
Remember

You saw
Behind the tree,

What you were looking for

You bent down looking
At the remains,

Gold,
Cell phone?
Map?
A bottle of whisky?
A shot?

You bent down

You saw in the broken mirror

You saw your face and the sky.
